Phat Tire Venture´s MTB trails

Skid Marks

This ride probably offers the best sampling of single track downhill riding in the Dalat area. The total ride distance is about 25 kilometers and it is the easiest of Phat Tire´s rides. Views are outstanding throughout with beautiful pine forested hills, Dankia Lake and picturesque small farms dotting the valleys you ride through.

This 22 kilometer ride goes around the backside of Lang Biang Mountain and into an area recently annexed by the newest National Park in Vietnam (Bidoup Nuiba). The trail heads to the best waterfall in Dalat, named ‘Tham Pham’ by the local minority tribes. You can try to swim in the crystal clear water before enjoying the downhill ride back.

Crazy 8

A 37 Km ride and another Dalat classic. This is the most physically challenging of Phat Tire´s mountain bike trails. The ride starts out with a good warm up before pushing through a series of punishing hills. Save yourself for the end on this one. Fantastic views throughout the ride and a great sampling of the terrain with lakes, pine forest and small country farms.

This ride is as good as it gets, but it is also the most technically challenging of the Dalat trails on offer. The off road section is 20 kilometers of single track with fantastic downhill sections and truly brutal uphill climbs. This one is not for the weak hearted. Bikers need to be in good shape and of intermediate mountain biking ability at least.

Bike and Raft from Dalat to Nha Trang

This journey to Nha Trang starts with a 45 minute transfer 25 kilometers to the north east of Dalat on a new road and through the newest national park in Vietnam (Bidoup Nui Ba). It offers fantastic cycling in the highlands as well as down a 28 kilometer pass to the lowlands. This downhill section is continuous ~ no joke. The first section of the ride starts in pine forest and rolls through the hills with beautiful views of farms, countryside and Nui Ba Mountain. There is one final 3 kilometer climb to the top of the pass before some serious downhill. The 28 kilometer, uninterrupted downhill section is the longest section of downhill on offer. And the longest they have been able to find. After reaching the bottom of the pass you pull over to the side of the river and climb off the bikes and into the inflatable 2 man kayaks, purpose made for the kinds of rapids we encounter on the Cai River. This river forms from the many tributaries flowing out of the mountains we have just ridden down. We float down the river for a half an hour or so before stopping for a picnic lunch break. After lunch you jump back into the boats and tackle a couple more sections of rapids, enjoy the fantastic scenery, and float your way closer to Nha Trang. At the end of the rafting you climb out of the river and go into vehicle for a short 40 minute ride to the city center. The total riding distance is customizable with about 60 km being the norm. The rafting section is about 10 kilometers.

Dalat [is the capital of Lam Dong province in Vietnam. The city is located 1,500 m (4,900 ft) above sea level on the Langbiang Plateau in the southern parts of the Central Highlands.

Hoi An

Hoi An  is a city on the coast of the South China Sea in the South Central Coast of Vietnam. It is located in Quang Nam province and is home to approximately 120,000 inhabitants. It is recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
