You need a connector to link your database with Power BI. These are special plugins that integrate into your project manager and allow you to do exactly what you need - gather and prepare data, transfer it to Power BI, and build your reports there. There are several such plugins available, depending on your project manager. If you're using Jira, I recommend this plugin - [url=https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1224059/microsoft-power-bi-connector-for-jira?hosting=datacenter&tab=overview. The plugin works steadily, does its job, I have never appealed to support. They also offer a free trial period, I believe.
