Swakopmund: An Adrenaline Oasis

Just outside of Swakopmund lies one of the best drop-zones in the world. If you have ever experienced desert skydiving, you know that nothing beats the view over an expanse of desert and sand dunes. It's an unique experience in every way and you kinda feel like freefalling towards another planet. One of such places, the Namib Desert, is made even more beautiful; being adjacent to the Atlantic Ocean and the bleak but stunning Skeleton coast, this world's oldest desert is where the sun, wind and sky harmonize together. And right here, in 1997, a group of enthusiastic parachutists formed a skydiving club.

Skydiving Elite to Gather in Montreal

For many years, indoor skydiving was almost always associated with skydiving and only skydivers military trained in facilities such as SkyVenture Montreal. The reality is quite different today. A lot of people now train and learn new techniques in wind tunnels, even if they have never jumped out of a plane before. In fact, the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI) and the International Parachuting Commission (IPC) recognize bodyflight competitions at the world level. Canadian Indoor Skydiving Championship comes back to Montreal on March 12-13, 2016 and everyone is welcomed.

Skydive Algarve: A New Name on the European Scene

Mild and sunny climate all year round is something a skydivers from the northern part of the European continent will appreciate especially during winter months with temperatures dropping to freezing. Not that a winter jump isn't spectacular enough but nothing beats a stunning sea view. Located at Portugal’s most southern region, sunny Algarve is known for its beautiful Mediterranean sunshine across its many sandy beaches that stretch as far as the eye can see. The ocean, in every shade of blue, framed by golden cliffs and picturesque limestone caves leave no doubt Algarve's coastline would be best viewed from the altitude.

Skydive Nagambie: The Best Drop Zone in Victoria

Located in a region of wine, waterways, wetlands and wildlife, the town of Nagambie surrounded by the picturesque lake of the same name is just perfect for a day in the sky. Nestled on the northern side of the Great Dividing Range, the town enjoys great weather conditions even during colder months, as the ranges provide a natural shield from the coastal winds and rain. And the views? Just magnificent. Whether it's the lush Yarra Valley, the heritage listed Kirwans Bridge or the backdrop of the third longest land-based range in the world, the views while you are free-falling from 15000ft towards the ground are one of the best Victoria has to offer.

Skydiving in Front of Mount Everest

On 4th of October 2008 a history was made when two World Champions Wendy Smith and Omar Alhegelan leaped from an airplane at 22,000ft to trigger off the first skydiving event in Nepal with 41 other skydivers involved, giving birth to a new adventure aptly called Everest Skydive. The event drew the attention of millions of people from around the world and made it into the record books, becoming another milestone in the history of Everest – after its first ascent by Tenzing and Hillary in 1953. For most, climbing Everest is a mission impossible but skydiving right over the top of Earth's highest mountain is something anyone can do.

Andy Stumpf Sets New Wingsuit Distance World Record

When a former U.S. Navy SEAL Andy Stumpf retired, he felt an urge to give back so he began training pararescue jumpers for the US Air Force. One thing led to another and a few years later, Andy is raising money for the Navy SEAL Foundation Survivor Support Program to honor families of fallen soldiers. Because Andy's also a great skydiver,B.A.S.E. jumper and wingsuit flyer , who has recently joined the Skullcandy Family, he thought it'd be cool - in order to promote his foundation - to break not one but four high altitude wingsuit world records while he's at it; jumping from above 37,265 feet. And he did it, smashing primarily the previous world record for the furthest absolute distance flown in a wingsuit, with a 18.26-mile flight. And this is what the world record looks like.
