Those sports minded will definitely appreciate the fact that they are near the Lago di Garda, one of the most attractive extreme sports regions in Europe. The surrounding countryside has ideal conditions for cycling, windsurfing, paragliding, canyoning, climbing and countless other activities.
You won´t regret even when you just want to enjoy leisure, soaking up the atmosphere of beautiful settings surrounded by mountains, vineyards and medieval towns (Riva de Garda and Arco are the main destinations for these) while enjoying delicious dishes of Italian cuisine.
Monte Brento is a 1544 m high mountain however the BASE jumping exit point is located about 70 meters below its peak. Find the place on the map of Adrex.com Locations...
For the BASE jumping purposes, just get to a small town of Sarche and continue less than three kilometers in the direction of Arco to the massif of Monte Brento. How would you find the right place? On your right side there will be the towering wall of Monte Brento as well as a grassy area next to the road - the main landing strip for BASE jumpers and a possible helicopter rescue services.
On the left you find a famous Parete Zebrata bar, the main BASE jumpers´ meeting point offering not just a perfect tea or coffee but an updated meteo service info and valuable advice for newcomers. The exit is accessible on foot, there´s no need of any special climbing. However, certain places are somewhat exposed (close to the exit) and there are pretty steep parts of the descent. We strongly recommend the belay and a rope, which will provide adequate protection. The most visited exits are equipped with ropes, but you never know how long it has been used therefore not advisable to rely on.
As Monte Brento is one of the most popular BASE jumping exits in Europe its platforms get sometimes really busy.
