Only 4 persons (visitors) are allowed to walk outside the observation deck on the edge of the tower´s 22nd floor. It offers BASE Jumpers a height of 170 meters, which is fine enough for a „safe“ open. As the sailing events of 1980 Olympics in Moscow were held in Tallinn, the tower was listed among the newly built Olympic sites, although its construction began as early as in 1975.
The Tallinn TV Tower´s official height is 314 meters. It has become one of Estonia´s symbols of independence since 1991. It went through the big renovation until 2012 and was reopened again in spring 2012. BASE Boogie from the construction measuring 1,030 feet (314 meters) makes Tallinn even more popular skydiving destination. TV Tower is the tallest building in Tallinn but comes up short compared to the Kuala Lumpur Tower in Malaysia, which tops out at 1,381 feet (421 meters).
