Kite spots:

The most popular areas are around camps organizing various kite schools and trips, but due to the vast area of the whole location, it is relatively easy to find a spot that would suit your "kite" needs. The lagoon can be ridden at high as well as low tide, with the high tide providing the best flat conditions for beginners, as the water is waist-deep.

If you are experienced enough, there are many wave spots too, with great weather conditions, especially during the winter months. Sometimes you will need a 4x4 vehicle to get to the spots or get in touch with the local camps organizing trips to such locations. If you want to go on your own, the ones to check are Foum Lobouir and Pointe D'Or. The first mentioned is accessible by a normal car.

Located just outside the city of Dakhla, the beautiful wave spot of Oum Lamboir is also worth a check. This classic right hand point break offers up perfect peeling waves and side-shore wind. Since this location is the home of the Kite World Tour held by PKRA, drawing in the best riders in the world and local talent of the area, it guarantees very good conditions if you are more into freestyle.

Weather conditions:

The wind never stops here, the sun is always shining, and the temperature is between the hot and cold, so you never get tired of being too warm or freezing.

Wind: The winds reach 14 - 25 knots in winter and 30 knots in July and August. It starts lighter in the morning, increase around noon and drop off at sunset.

Air temperature: Temp range from  20 to 30°C  during the day, and 12 - 15°C at night all year round

Water temperature: Temp range from 19 to 24°C all year around. If there is a stronger wind, a wetsuit might be a good idea, as it feels much colder in the water, especially in January and February.

If there is no wind or during the light wind in the morning, you can go surfing, stand up paddling, wakeboarding or just go fishing.
