“Show us your mountain.face” -- that is the challenge which the organizers of the KIKU. International Mountain Summit introduced in May– one of the largest mountain photography contests worldwide. More than 1000 photographers from over 60 countries have accepted the invitation so far. “This year we created a new category with the DJI Aerial Award for our contest. Drone photography is becoming more and more popular and offers amazing shots from incredible perspectives” states Florian Hitthaler, the IMS project manager of the contest.

150 photographers from all over the world will receive a special tribute this year; their photos will be published in the photo collection called “Atem der Berge”. The well known German publisher, Bruckmann, is going to present its latest book, created in collaboration with the IMS Photo Contest, at the Frankfurt Book Fair. It contains 150 pictures from every continent including images from all editions of the contest. Bruckmann is also the editor of the BERGSTEIGER magazine, leader of alpine and outdoor literature.

“We are proud to collaborate with the Bruckmann publisher, but it is also a compliment to more than 9000 photographers that have participated so far at our contest” claim the two initiators of the IMS Alex Ploner and Markus Gaiser. The contest runs until July 31st, and then a top-class jury will determine the winners of the two Awards and distribute the prize money in the amount of € 6,600 and a DJI Phantom 3 drone.
