Melloblocco: Climbing Marathon that Never Ends

It was that time of the year again when Melloblocco, Europe's most important bouldering meeting in the world took place. Four days – from 30 April to 3 May 2015 – that for the past 12 years have united thousands of climbers and nature lovers in Italy’s Val di Mello and Val Masino saw climbers from all over Europe and even a few from further afield. Confirmation came from the 2,500 registered participants representing 25 nations, the 5,000+ climbers and they were all awaited by the valley with its soaring cliffs and its boulders that have “fallen from heaven”. As always, the event that unites climber's irrepressible love for climbing along with the beauty of the unique nature was a success - both on the rocks and during every moment of the day.

Describing all the Mello boulder problems and the Melloblocker climbers that were seen is impossible. You would have to remember many, perhaps too many, details so the Melloblockers' crew released an official video capturing all the highlights you might have missed. Worth mentioning is Adam Ondra who, even on the stage, “hypnotized” the "Melloblockers" with his “Be the Change”; Steve House who introduced the audience to his mountaineering that goes well beyond the mere physical dimension; the ovation that was give to one of bouldering’s greats, Christian Core. The perfect climbing partnerships comprised of Simone Salvagnin and Urko Carmona Barandieran who showed everyone that they are not only great paraclimbing champions, but also great climbers was another highlight. Those truly unique moments and more really showed what Melloblocco is all about. Don't miss the 2016 edition!
