Kruder Siblings conquer iconic Verzasca Dam
second edition, attracted 24 of the world's best…
2015 will be an extremely important year for Arco. After the huge success of Rock Master – which since 1987 has transformed into the most important climbing competition in the world – and after the extraordinary experience of the 2011 World Championship, this year Arco will lay on a triplet that cannot be missed: Rock Master, Arco Rock Legends and, so as to look even further into the future, the IFSC World Youth Championship.
Arco is located on the north-east end of Lake Garda in Northern Italy. The climbing around Arco is mostly limestone with rock visible in every direction, but what this area got really famous for is arguably the festival itself.
From 28 August to 6 September 2015, the small town in Trentino region will be invaded by hundreds of young athletes from around the world – an estimated 1000 youngsters – and for the first time in the history of youth competitions there’ll be not just the traditional disciplines Lead and Speed, but also Boulder, a sign of how much this youngest discipline has grown dramatically in recent years.
The IFSC World Youth Championships are a unique and important opportunity for Arco that, for years, has successfully hosted Rock Junior. Last year the town also successfully hosted the European Youth Boulder Championships.
