10 Years and Still Going Strong: Vienna Air King 2015 Highlights

With its unique location and seething atmosphere the Vienna Air King is an inseparable part of the FMB World Tour calendar. This year, the legendary silver event celebrated its 10th anniversary. From April 10th to 12th 2015 mountain bike dirt jump pros and youngsters as well as thousands of spectators came together at Vienna’s Rathausplatz to honor this jubilee. Nicholi Rogatkin become the first athlete to win Saturday’s best trick jam session as well as Sunday’s main event, becoming the ultimate champion of the weekend and the new Vienna Air King 2015.

Over the years, riders from around the globe have battled hard for the Vienna Air King throne. Last year's champion Brett Rheeder earned consecutive titles in 2013 and 2014. On April 12th, at the Argus Bike Festival the Vienna Air King finals commenced on the Rathausplatz in Vienna. Over the past decade, the athletes have used the city’s air space to throw down the biggest tricks in their quest for the throne and this year was no exception. The line-up consisted of 16 top athletes and about 50 pre-qualifiers from who Nicholi Rogatkin emerged victorious. Belgian rider, Thomas Genon was close to glory but his stylish run, filled with airtime and massive tricks like a 720 landed him in second place and rounding off the podium was talented rider Max Fredriksson hauling from Sweden.
