Bike Transalp: The Toughest Amateur Bike Race across the Alps

Save the date! Only a few weeks after the 2015 BIKE Transalp powered by Sigma wrapped up with an historical triumph for Team Centurion-Vaude, riders from all over the world can start their preparation for the next edition of this classic mountain bike marathon. The 2016 event will take place from July 17th to 23rd and will lead hundredths of teams of two over seven stages across the main ridge of the Alps. And it will be yet another challenging race; almost 520 kilometers and 17.750 meters in altitude will ensure pure adrenaline. Online registration kicks-off on December 8th, 2015 so hurry up!

The BIKE Transalp powered by Sigma is the most famous stage race for mountain bike teams of two. From its first edition in 1998 until 2013, the routing led in eight stages from Germany across the main ridge of the Alps to Italy. In 2014, the event featured seven stages for the first time in Transalp history. In 2015, the participating duos had to pedal a total distance of 611.27 km and 19,002 meters of climbing to make it from Ruhpolding via Saalfelden/Leogang, Mittersill, Sillian, Alleghe, San Martino di Castrozza and Levico Terme to Riva del Garda.
