Dew Tour Concluded Its First New York Event

The Dew Tour Toyota City Championships brought their unique competition to Brooklyn for the very first time at the House of Vans in Brooklyn, N.Y. this past weekend. The two-day event kicked off with the Street competition for both BMX and skateboard followed by the Streetstyle. The course was divided into three zones, each hosting an action-packed 8-minute jam session in front of an energetic crowd. The Brooklyn stop was arguably the most anticipated on the 2014 tour, with the culture and affinity for action sports making it an ideal host city. Check out the highlights.

Dennis Enarson, a 23-year-old native of California, took home top honors in BMX Street after consistently nailing tricks during his three runs, earning himself a total score of 89.25.  “I’m hyped. This was my first street contest win and I’m psyched about it. I can’t even believe it,” he said. Fellow Californian Chad Kerley and New Jersey-native Garrett Reynolds took home second and third place respectively, scoring 88.58 and 87.58. In his Dew Tour premiere, New Jersey native Ishod Wair earned the top score in skateboard street finals landing a total score of 89.58. "I skate with a lot of these guys at home, so it was more like just skating for fun. I felt like it was the old days, skating at my local indoor park,” he explained on why there was no pressure on him at all.

On Sunday, Garrett raised his spirits after Saturday's loss, earning top podium in BMX streetstyle event, one of his favorites ones as he claimed later on. Unlike Wair, despite his nervousness as later described as, "my legs were shaking, I was extremely nervous and didn’t think I would land anything," another Dew Tour newcomer Trevor Colden earned his first Dew Cup in skateboard streetstyle, following a second place finish in street competition. Both, Garret and Trevor, were the only two in their events to earn scores above a 90.0.
