Wolzenbolzen 2014 - Freeride Fun in Switzerland

"Burning Wheels Tour" (BWT) is the umbrella organization of events for skateboarders that happen all over Switzerland throughout the Summer. The latest event, the Wolzenbolzen, is a freeride race that is more about fun than actual racing. Set in around a ski areal Wolzenalp, Krummenau in Toggenburg, the event attrracts over 100 riders traveling from Denmark, Holland, France, Austria, Germany and all parts of Switzerland to enjoy skateboarding, live music and more on 4 - 5 October.

The event takes place at a small ski resort Wolzeanlp located in eastern Switzerland, Toggenburg region on a 5,5 km long track. Righ there, the Wolzenalp chairlift will provide unlimited lifts to the top of the track  so that you will never have to wait for the shuttle.

At the top of the chairlift there will be a party tent with bar, DJ and live band. Near the party tent there will be one campground each for tents and RV / bus / caravans. Each day from 9am till 12pm (noon) and from 1pm till 5pm the road will be ready to ride. The fee is: CHF 50.- for 1 day and CHF 95.- for 2 days. All rates include unlimited lifts with chairlift, place for camping and a party on Saturday evening. 

Wolzenbolzen 2014 Schedule:

Friday 3.10.2014 

  • 17.00 - Shuttle from car parking to campground and party tent starts to run. Will be running till approx. 10pm
  • 18.00 - Bar open
  • 20.00 - Registration at the bar 

Saturday 4.10.2014 

  • 08.30 - Registration at the bottom of the chairlift
  • 09.00 to 12.00 - Freeride
  • 12.00 to 13.00 - Lunch break, you will have to bring your own food for lunch
  • 13.00 to 17.00 - Freeride
  • 18.00 to open end - Bar and artisan food corner open, DJ and live band 

Sunday 5.10.2014 

  • 09.00 to 12.00 - Freeride
  • 12.00 to 13.00 - Lunch break, you will have to bring your own food for lunch
  • 13.00 to 17.00 - Freeride
  • 17.00 - Freeride finish

Directions:

The Wolzenalp chairlift is located in 9643 Nesslau-Krummenau. There will be sign at the road which will direct you to the chairlift and the car parking lot. You can't miss it.
