One of the Largest Street Snowboard Contests Heads to Japan

The 5th Annual Burton Rail Days presented by MINI is one of largest street snowboard contests in the world. The best rail riders from across the world will converge in the heart of Tokyo, Japan at Roppongi Hills Arena. The event promises to culminate with a mixture of music, interactive experiences, and world class snowboarding. But what this event really stands for is the course setup that gets inspired by real street shredding. And for that reason, this event is unlike anything you've ever seen. Check it out!

The field of riders for Burton Rail Days isn't your typical line up of competitors. These guys won't be found showcasing their talents in the Olympics, rather spending countless nights stacking video clips in the streets. These urban assailants make street snowboarding look effortless. They are truly masters of a unique craft.

The Burton Rail Days course is a street inspired setup replicating the urban environments people pass by in their everyday lives. The typical urban snowboarder sees the world differently than most. They look at buildings, handrails, or stair sets and see the pure opportunity to express their creativity. Maintaining that mindset throughout the design process has allowed the course building crew to create one of the world's most realistic and creative street snowboarding setups the industry has ever seen. This design not only encourages each rider's personal creativity, but it gives spectators the opportunity to get as close as they can to the action.

New to the event this year will be the addition of two riders who earned their spot by winning the Burton Qualifiers at Seven Springs, PA and Brighton, UT last winter. Look out for them as they try to make their mark and earn their place amongst snowboarding's elite.
