The Poney Session 2015 Highlights

Guys from Poney Session dropped us a video edit they made on occasion of already 13th edition of the infamous Poney Session, an international snowboard event held at the beginning of March in Saint-Lary snowpark, France. This unique French and European competition in the World Snowboard Tour promised to be an amazing show and guys delivered. The video shows 6 minutes of high level athleticism, of snowboarding with spins, with head over feet, feet over head, faces in snow, skateboarding, local music, and evenings full of rhythm thanks to the best DJs in the electro music scene. What's more, the event’s godfather, Mathieu Crépel, discovers the behind the scenes life of this snowboard world cup event, a unique moment on the World Snowboard Tour, but also a true festival of urban culture, a household name since it began 13 years ago in Saint-Lary-Soulan in the Pyrenees. Check it out.

The final of the 13th edition of the Poney Session kept its promises! Under a bright blue sky and with technical snow, the high level of our competitors surpassed all our large crowd’s expectations as they watched it all go down in the Lary-Soulan snowpark. Technique and style were the two main criteria for the judges, though amplitude is of course, always an important factor. It was not easy for our judges to separate the pack into the 14 finalists that each had 5 runs to show off their talent. After a long deliberation, it was finally Swiss rider Jonas Boesiger who took first with 84.72 points, followed by the Canadian Antoine Truchon with 83.05 points, and Norwegian Stian Kleivdal taking third with 79.44 points. The first Frenchman, Enzo Nilo, who broke his board at the beginning of the competition and was forced to ride Mathieu Crépel’s board instead , came in 6th with 76.38 points. More in the edit. Enjoy!
