The Tenjin Banked Slalom that took place at legendary heavy snowfall mountain Mt.Tanigawa near Tokyo, Japan follows the same pattern of no less legendary Mt.Baker's Banked Slalom that's been held in North America annually since 1985. As snowboard competitions get more and more attention, perhaps due to its Olympic appearance, the banked slaloms aren't cuts from the same cloth. Instead, they continue to hand over the essence of snowboarding to future generations to come. Run by ex-Pro rider and 'TJ' brand director Yosuke Nishida, the Tenjin Banked Slalom is one of them.
Riders from Japan made awesome video edits of the Tenjin Banked Slalom to give us a glimpse of what Tenjin Banked Slalom is all about and how it originated. The second episode takes us right to the event that took place at Mt. Tanigawa Tenjindaira Snow Resort this March 7-8 with the US North West legend, snowboarder Matt Cummins in da house. Enjoy!
