District of Cavalese
Cavalese is the main town of Val di Fiemme valley with 3,600 inhabitants. It stretches across a glacial terrace which slopes slightly downwards where the valley reaches its maximum width. Most of district-services (like the hospital for example) and the offices of the valley are located here. In winter Cavalese offers numerous ski-lifts, especially in the ski area of Alpe Cermis, as well as cross-country ski at the bottom of the valley and in Lavazè Pass. Summer visitors are offered a wide range of excursions and outdoor activities, drawing on river Avisio´s proximity.
Avisio Rafting
The Avisio offers fine rapids of WW III-IV, several of its parts can be rated V according to the water level. The company supplies you with all needed equipment. The river often hosts paddling competitions and races.
