The Tacas Dive Resort is a company with eight years of experience dedicated to recreational diving courses and conducting underwater excursions and water sports. They also develop adventure tourism expeditions and special interests at the regional level. They currently have certification "Nautical Sports Entity" issued by the Chilean Navy to teach courses and practise underwater recreational activities. In addition they are certified by PADI (Professional Assosation of Diving Instructors) and PADI Dive Resort.

 

Dive Resort is operating every day of the year. All you need is just book your quota and ask for the climatic conditions of the moment. The Humboldt Current is a large Marine Ecosystem, and one of the major upwelling systems in the world, it supports an extraordinary abundance of marine life in the area. Tacas divers have more than 8 local dive sites including nearby islands:

Marina Las Tacas

Sector of water bordered with bottom of sand and transparent waters. Necessary for initiations and reviews. The present marine life includes juvenile fish, large mullets, and several species of sea snails. Depth: 3 m Min / Max 6 m.

The cathedrals

Underwater mountains covered with sponges and presence with tunnels and steep walls. The varied marine life includes schools of castañetas, groupers, giant jellyfish (December to February), crustaceans, nudibranchs and sea lions.

Hill

Rocky set surrounded by sponges with tunnels and steep walls. This on-site marine life includes large fish like old, Peje dogs and Apanados. Depth: 25 m Min / Max 40 m. Boat transfer: 10 minutes from Las Tacas Dive Resort.

The cavern

Underwater cavern 15 meters of extension with bozh ways independent. Only advanced divers depth: 15 m Min / Max 32 m. Boat transfer: 10 minutes from Las Tacas Dive Resort.

Mountain

Rock formation of large size with varied marine life which include bilagays and plump, peje cabrillas Spanish, in addition to large amount of colours sponges and dogs. Depth: 9 m Min / Max 38 m. Boat transfer: 10 minutes from Las Tacas Dive Resort.

The rock of the French.

Submarine Canyon-bottomed rock and white sand surrounded by sponges and algae. Present marine life including fish and small, sharks look red and many crustaceans. Depth: Min 12 m / 26 ft Max. Transfer: 3 minutes from Las Tacas Dive Resort.

The Frenchman Bay.

Background of white sand, rock and seaweed. Ideal for the first dives. There is a varied marine life that includes bilagays, roundwood, vernal and pint red sharks. Depth: 10 m Min / Max 15 m. Transfer: 3 minutes from Las Tacas Dive Resort.

Min. age for diving is 10.
