European Freestyle Pro Tour
between the 27th of April and the 1st of May, will be…
Within more than a decade of existence, the Nixon Surf Challenge has developed from a casual get-together of befriended riders sharing some waves into a highly anticipated event discovering unexplored destinations. From the arctic conditions of the Lofoten Islands, Norway, to the surreal landscapes of Iceland, the past events have been some intense trips to the unknown.
It doesn't look like your favourite surf location, does it?
Who didn't experience it can't really appreciate how beautiful it is
Known as the Land of Ice and Fire, Kamchatka is one of the wildest regions of the world. Home to brown bears, active volcanoes and just above 320.000 people, the Russian peninsula’s long and exposed coastline holds a lot of potential for amazing surf and a great adventure. With a next to non-existing infrastructure and water temperatures are rather arctic than tropical, a surf trip there is a mission far from the ordinary.
Ready!
Surf's on!
Congrats to William Aliotti, winner of the 2014 Nixon Surf Challenge!
“I’m so happy to return from Russia with two prizes in the bag – it’s more than I could have ever expected when I was invited on the trip,” said William. “As a Nixon rookie, it’s been a real honor to experience this incredible competition first-hand alongside such a stacked rider line-up. Big ups to all the surfers, especially Vincent who pushed me all the way, and the Nixon crew working behind the scenes to make this incredible adventure a reality!”
