Unlike surfing, skimboarding begins on the beach by dropping the board onto the thin wash of previous waves and getting your tricks done on the wash of waves. And I must admit it is fun. Did you know that Skimboarding has its own World Championship that marks the 38th running of its history? Check it out.
The VIC has also been called the World Championship of Skimboarding (WCS), and is the most prestigious Skimboarding contest in the World. Riders from Japan, Chile, Australia, Portugal, The Philippines, Spain, Mexico, Canada and more, come to Laguna Beach to compete in the longest running contest in skimboarding history every year. Throw in the live broadcast with over 20,000 viewers in 2013 and the VIC is a must for any rider planning on making a name for himself/herself in the Skimboarding World.
