AF Wake School was founded in 2000, and has grown each year adding more coaches and teaching locations. The winter camp began in 2004 which allows year-round training in the wakeboarding hotspot Orlando, Florida. AF Wake has seen thousands of students from all over the world, and is helping others enjoy getting started and/or win World Championships of their own. Lake Gaston (NC & VA) continues to be a hotspot for Spring and Summer training.
Adam is really busy man. As the reigning BroStock champion and 2009 IWWF World Champion, 2014 brings another huge year of challenges and excitement for Adam. In addition to the normal challenges of going up against the world’s top pros in competition, he is building a coaching tour with Centurion Boats, coaching again in Europe, organizing the AF Wake Series, writing instructionals for the Wake Journal magazine, Boating World magazine and the AF Wake blog, coaching at home, running the AF Wake boardshop at Lake Gaston, and starting a non-profit organization.
AF Wake, Inc. came about from one person’s dream of becoming a watersports athlete and professional wakeboarder over thirteen years ago. That person is Adam Fields, whose dream came true. Adam started his own wakeboard school, where he and others coach over 2000 people each summer teaching them wakeboarding, wake surfing and wake skating.
That was just the beginning…
AF Wake, Inc. is now much more than a wakeboard school. It’s multiple schools, a wakeboard shop, a rentals business, a hub for local and national events, and a sport promoter. We have a dynamic, world-wide reach and welcome students from all over the world.
Our professional wakeboard coaches make it their job to patiently offer tips, feedback, and understanding for your riding, driving and entertainment needs. And most importantly we want to make sure our students understand that safety is our number one priority. At Adam Fields Wakeboarding School, all our professional wakeboard coaches are safety certified and professionally trained, competitive athletes, judges, and drivers.
We are here to show you how to make the most of your on-water experience. We’ll help you not only ride better, but also how drive better, become engaged in the wake community, and get all the proper gear you need.
AF Wake provides lessons for boat driving, Wakeboarding, Wake Skating, and Wake Surfing. Private lessons are a great option to gain a lot of personalized time with an instructor. We recommend this for families, groups, and competitive riders. These lessons are scheduled by the hour and one hour is recommended per person.
During the lessons, boat driving and sport safety is discussed, along with boating etiquette and riding technique. We’ll even bring you up to speed with local events and what is going on within the wake community.
We have gear if you need it. Let us know during the scheduling process and please allow some time to get the gear setup prior to the lesson.
