Tarah Mikacich - The Queen of Wakeboarding - Wake Lake Ellenor

Tarah Mikacich is one of the top US female water-skiiers and wakeboarders. She has spent most of her life on the water. Personable and professional, Tarah is a great representative of women's wakeboarding. Tarah grew up in the water sports industry. Her parents owned and operated The Benzel Skiing Center, where she lived until age 10. Tarah started competing when she was 7 years old and won her first of many U.S National Water Ski titles when she was 9.

She earned a spot on numerous U.S. Teams and competed internationally in Mexico, Greece, Chile, Peru, Australia, Germany, Russia, and China. She also won titles at the World Games, University Worlds, Jr. Worlds, and U.S. Open events. She competed in water skiing for 15 years, winning many National and World Titles.

She made the career change to wakeboarding in 2006. Tarah has competed several years on the pro tour and most recently placed 5th at Worlds. In 2011 she won Female Move of the Year, and she was the 1st Pro Woman to win the MyWake Global Challenge summer video contest in 2012. Tarah strives to make a positive impact in the sport, coaching wakeboarders of all ages and skill levels, and hosting instructional web videos. She trains and coaches full-time at the Freedom Wake Park, Orlando, the park she operates with her husband, another US waterskiing and wakeboarding legend, Cobe Mikacich.
