Iceland Traverse with Hans Rey & Steve Peat

Following lines might serve well to those who might have been thinking of going on a bike trip to Iceland. The country that is best defined by its dramatic landscape full of lush green valleys, geysers, lava fields, massive waterfalls, glaciers and endless stretches of black-sand beaches has been on bikers' radar for some time now. Uninhabitable interior, epic routes and trails that interconnect through remote mountains or seeing the Northern Lights are the main lure, making it a must-do trip. But nothing beats the real adventure so when we found out that Hans Rey and Steve Peat, two legendary mountain bikers went to Iceland we had to get in touch to find out whether what others say about Iceland is true. Hans also wrote a nice story of the whole trip that you will find at the end of the interview.

Johannes Fischbach Wins the Bilbao City

It was a beginning of another hot sunny day in north Spain when 50 urban downhill riders tested Bilbao's race track in Parque Etxebarria, a hillside park with views looking over the city. Whether it was a dirt wallride, big drops, long stairsets or a bus gap, the Spanish course tested all riders' limits well. The crowd of more than ten thousand "oh'd" and "ah'd" whenever riders whizzed by, passing the near Nervión river at full speed in order to beat the clock. Qualification runs were dominated by New Zealander Matt Walker, but it was German Johannes Fischbach who emerged victorious from the battle in the end, claiming first Bilbao's gold.
