What are the key differences between direct and conventional complete dentures and how do they address the challenges of transitioning to life without natural teeth?

Conventional full dentures are made after natural teeth have been removed and the gum tissue has healed. This process involves taking impressions of the edentulous (toothless) arches and recording the patient's bite once the extraction sites have healed.

Direct dentures are placed immediately after a tooth is removed, meaning that the patient does not have to remain toothless during the healing period. However, the fit of direct dentures may require adjustments as the underlying bone and soft tissue heal and resorb over time.
