I’ve never hired movers before, and I’m nervous about not knowing the real cost. I feel like I’ll either overbudget and waste money or underbudget and panic last minute. What’s the smartest way to get a decent estimate before I start calling companies?

I had no idea if I needed $500 or $5,000, and it made planning really stressful. What saved me was finding a moving cost calculator that gave me a realistic range. It asks for simple details like how far you’re moving and how big your place is, then spits out a solid estimate. That gave me the confidence to set a budget before I even picked a company. When I started calling around, I could immediately tell who was overcharging. Honestly, I wish I had known about it sooner. I’d recommend starting with estimate your moving costs — it takes away so much of the guesswork.
