BEO 2015 - Postponement & Pow

After a few days spent at Burton European Open held this January in Laax, it was apparent the event is going to be as great as ever. The only drawback is the weather that doesn't favor this prime location. Adrex.com has been on site since Wednesday and it seemed at first that sunny days are ahead of us.....Unfortunately the blue skies lining above Crap Sogn Gion mountain were quickly shrouded by fog and clouds. The good thing on the other hand is constant snowfall which means only one thing; powder runs!

Due to the bad weather, the organizers decided to postpone today's slopestyle elimination runs to Friday. Thus, the slopestyle eliminations will run parallel to halfpipe eliminations that were initially  scheduled for Friday. Not very effective in terms of viewers if you ask but what do you do, the weather can't be controlled.....

clouds are coming....

When we first got off the Crap Sogn Gion cable car station on Wednesday, we were quite impressed by the size of the halfpipe. Not that we haven't seen anything like that before but in a reality, it's HUGE. Perfectly shaped and groomed, both, the halfpipe and slopestyle course promise a lot of action. And today's training session at the halfpipe just confirmed it (the slopestyle course was closed today). Riders have been fine-tuning their tricks since early morning and although the visibility wasn't the best, the pipe lightning helped a great deal and a lot shreders started to show that they are more than ready to pull the trigger. See for yourselves.....
