Freeride World Tour 2023 - Kicking Horse Golden BC Pro

It was the 3rd stop of the Freeride World Tour 2023 in Canada at Kicking Horse Golden BC, (CAN) on the 17th of February 2023. After two stops in the Pyrenees the world’s best riders came over the Atlantic to hit the powder in the Rocky Mountains. The competition took place in the impressive Ozone-Face, where riders faced a 324-meter vertical drop which included steep terrain, cornices, transfers, and big cliffs. All athletes had the cut on the back of their minds, it was the last opportunity to show off what they´ve got and to earn a spot in the FWT Finals. So, athletes with nothing to lose, to demonstrate explosive action and creativities without limits.

  • Mexican snowboarder Liam Rivera, rookie on the tour and the first Mexican rider ever on the FWT takes home his first win on his just his third Freeride World Tour competition.
  • In the Ski Men category we probably saw one of the biggest backflips ever on the Freeride World Tour and the Austrian Max Hitzig, riding under the German flag, wins his second FWT competition with an incredible score of 97.67 points.
  • Megane Betend (FRA) is the winner of the day in the ski women category, the young French skier is celebrating his first time FWT win.
  • Winner of the last category of the day, the snowboard women category was Australia’s Michaela Davis-Meehan.
