Snowpark Goldeck is Back

The anticipation for snow and winter can drive any serious rider mad, resulting in continuous looks at the weather forecast and the permanent longing to finally get the snow gear out of the basement. But the torture will be soon over as the Snowpark Goldeck is about to let all in for another round of shiny shred-fun in the upcoming season, right on Carinthia’s Sports Mountain in Spittal an der Drau. Slowly but surely, Austria gets covered in a coat of the white gold and it's just about time to lay down some park and resort info for all who might happen to be in Carinthia this winter. With a huge backcountry (50 hectares) of easily accessible freeride routes and the re-birth of local snowpark are the main attractions here. Let's have a ride.

The Carinthians are rightly proud of their Goldeck Mountain: loads of sunshine and a stunning view over the Alps are paving the way for a highly elaborate winter sports paradise. Just 5 km away from the highway exit Spittal, skiers and snowboarders have the possibility to work themselves out throughout the whole winter. Whether you test the longest black slope of the Alps, or enjoy powder on the 50 ha Freeride Area – it’s suffice to say that you will most likely find your personal playground here.

The park is easy reachable with a 6-seater chairlift that will take you to the top of the 650 meters long snowpark. Three different lines suitable for all riding levels are in place starting with 3 boxes in the beginner area that are good to warm up on. When your muscles are stretched enough, you can take on the medium line. Here fun begins with some neat Down- and Up-Rails, a Flat/Down-Tube or a Lollipop Jib and other features such us three kickers (6-7m table) in a row that will provide you with enough airtime to lock stylish tricks. Last but not least, the kid's area will once again be just the place to be for young freestylers. Whether Wave Run or Banked Run, there will be enough features to run riot.
