Ahmed Gabr - World´s Deepest Sea Water Dive (-332.4 M) Record
UPDATE - September 19, 2014 – yesterday, around midnight, Ahmed Gabr finally appeared on the Red Sea water surface in Dahab and we can definitely confirm that the previous record of Pascal Bernabé is surpassed. It's not the full 20 meters as it was announced yesterday, but slightly less than 2.5 meters. A new entry in the Guinness Book of Records, then, is -332.4 meters (- 1090,5 feet)! Ahmed is in good shape and seems to finish the dive without any complications. For the whole team of Adrex.com we send a huge congratulations to Egypt.
UPDATE - September 18, 2014 : The new world record has been set for deepest sea water dive on Thursday, 18 September 2014, in Dahab, Egypt. The name of the Egyptian diver Ahmed Gabr is now indelibly written in the history of scuba diving. With its 332 meters deep dive in the Red Sea waters he has broken the existing world record of Pascal Bernabé by a whopping 2 meters. There were no reports of any complications during the dive and the latest information (3:30 p.m. GMT) refers Ahmed continues his scheduled decompression procedure. Several depth marks attached to the guiding rope were deployed for today´s attempt between depth levels from 330 m to 350 m. The entire submersion should take an incredible 14 hours(!), of which the greater part is consumed on the way up the guiding rope.
