Official participation of Egypt

The most important international consumer show on scuba diving will be running again under the umbrella of boot Düsseldorf and has received good bookings for this coming January, with approximately 350 exhibitors. Rentable space for manufacturers of scuba diving equipment has reached the same height as last year. Whether it’s Aqua Lung, Azenor, Balzer, Bauer, Cressi, Mares, Oceanic or SCUBAPRO – all the great brands of the industry will be represented in Düsseldorf. There has even been a slight increase in direct sales, with good opportunities to purchase equipment for the impending season. Indonesia, Italy, the Maldives, the Philippines and Turkey will each have their own pavilion, recommending suitable holiday destinations for divers. Despite its unstable political situation, Egypt will be represented by ten companies and an official stand on diving tourism, run by the Arab Republic of Egypt. Leading organisations will be at hand, answering questions about diver training and safety: PADI, SSI, International Aquanautic Club (IAC) and the Association of German Skin Divers (VDST).

Water Pixel World well established

The neighbouring Hall 4 will feature a so-called Water Pixel World and thus the entire well established sphere of film and photography. This is a highly popular area not only for divers but also for watersports enthusiasts of all shades and colours as well as for active amateur photographers. 25 exhibitors and brands will present their imaging products and innovative ideas in photography and film making at boot 2014. They will include Minox, GoPro, Rollei, Sealux and Underwater Kinetics. A stage and several seminar rooms will be available for product presentations and workshops. Exhibitors and highly experienced underwater photographers will demonstrate new cameras and equipment to novices and ambitious amateur photographers and will share their ideas on creating good photos and films.

Taster courses in diving – also for people with disabilities

Further tips and trends can be found at the central show and information platform in the Diving Hall (Hall 3) – the Scuba Diving Centre at the glass Diving Tower. It is a platform where the entire world of diving will feature a richly varied information programme with over 400 presentations on equipment, travelling, diving spots and also on the stars and starlets of the diving scene. One major attraction for diving novices in Hall 3 will be a taster course. About 800 visitors at boot can look forward to an opportunity to discover diving as an enjoyable activity at the trade fair. On one afternoon of the trade fair at boot 2014 the diving pool will be made available especially for people with disabilities. This is a target group for whom diving is particularly attractive because of its therapeutic qualities. The crew serving at the diving pool will have prepared themselves in theory and practice for their work with disabled divers.

A safe start into scuba diving

The pool is 6 x 4 m in size,1.8 m deep and has bull’s eyes on three sides for observation purposes, thus offering ideal conditions for learners and helping them to feel perfectly safe from the very beginning. Diving gear is available by the pool side. Anyone who simply wants to put their head in the water will be given a snorkel set and a mask. Alternatively, participants are also welcome to use the full equipment, complete with air cylinder, breath control, diving suit and fins. Expert instructions and safety advice will be provided by coaches from the leading scuba diving associations and training organisations.

All facets of water sports in 17 exhibition halls

The Düsseldorf boat show – boot 2014 – will feature 1,650 exhibitors from over 60 countries in 17 exhibition halls, presenting everything that is required for fun and sporting activities on, by and in the water: small dinghies, big yachts, diving, surfing and fishing gear, equipment for boats and the most beautiful destinations for the next holiday. More about boot Düsseldorf 2014...
