Diving Panglao Island - Alona Beach, Philippines

Alona Beach is known as a world-class diving destination. The greatest evidence of the fact is a presence of many diving boats on it. There are dozens of them always docked in the water, waiting to take both divers and snorkelers out for some underwater adventure. Alona is considered the centerpiece and starting point of most diving trips around Panglao Island. From here you can enjoy and explore some of the best dive sites in the Philippines.

Alona Beach on the south-west of Panglao Island, is a beautiful, well developed one kilometer stretch of white sand. Adrex.com recommends services of Genesis Divers, one of the most experienced diving companies in the area. Located just on the Alona Beach, Panglao Island, Bohol, Genesis Divers are offering daily dive trips, accommodation (Hayahay Resort), dive safarisand the full range of SDI/TDI and PADI courses from from Open Water Diver to Divemaster. Genesis base position is literally perfect.

It's not even that far from shore (sometimes only about 100 meters), that you are allowed to meet with perfect diving sites of the house reef (Panglao Reef or Kalipayan), which is a great place to see the marine life even while just snorkelling.

The wall of „Kalipayan“ starts at about 3m, and drops down to about 20m, having soft and colorful coral heads, sea fans, small groupers, juvenile barracudas and much more.

Distant places for those heading to greater depths then offer even more. Be sure to check out also the nearby Balicasag, Pamilacan and Cabilao islands for amazing diving and snorkeling. You will need to hire a dive boat, but there are plenty around. The great news is that all these smaller islands have their own diving resorts.
