Preparations for the Record Deep Dive Culminate in Dahab

On Thursday, 18 September 2014, yet another admirable attempt to create a new world record in deep diving will take place in Dahab, Egypt. An experienced Egyptian diving instructor and professional technical diver Ahmed Gabr is going to try the descend to a depth of 350 meters, which would (if successfully completed) definitely aspire to be enrolled in the Guinness Book of Records. The entire submersion should take a whopping 14 hours(!), of which the greater part is consumed by decompression process on the way up the guiding rope. Directly before, during and immediately after the dive, we will closely follow its course. So stay tuned to the Adrex.com website and watch the outcome of tomorrow.

UPDATE : September 18 , 2014 Record Set !

To overcome the current depth record, Ahmed has to descend to at least 330 meters, which is the current world´s record of the Frenchman Pascal Bernabé from 5 June 2005 (Propriano, Corsica). Several depth marks attached to the guiding rope are planned for tomorrow´s attempt between the depth levels from 330 meters (1083 ft) to 350 meters (1148 ft). Only tomorrow we will know, which of these is reached when Ahmed appears back on the water surface. Despite all precautions, of course, it is going to be a highly risky venture and any mistake can have very serious consequences. On behalf of the entire Adrex.com team, we keep our fingers crossed and look forward to the first news from Dahab.
