Sufa (Satil) Wreck Dive in the Red Sea - Eilat, Israel

Sufa was a French missile battleship that was stolen two years after the 6-day war in 1969 and has been in active service for Israeli army until 1988. There are several titles for a beautiful wreck diving adventure to this military ship including Soufa, Storm Wreck, Sufa Missile or Satil. Anyway, we respect her original name „Achi Sufa“. In 1994 Sufa was sunk in the Gulf of Eilat (Aqaba) in the northern tip of the Red Sea and transformed into one of the most popular wreck dives in Eilat.

Sufa Wreck is one of the most easily accessible wrecks of the Red Sea. Located close to Coral Beach, Sufa Wreck sits upright, parallel to the beach and the current. She is 46 meters long and she lies in a depth of 25 meters and the average dive depth ranges from 20 to max. 30 meters. The underwater visibility in the area is very good as it exceeds 15 meters. Some parts of the ship were deliberately sealed for safety reasons but plenty of inside parts can be reached. You can also admire Sufa´s bridge, engine room, and missile launching area. Her position is marked with buoys. Find the place on the Map of Adrex.com Locations...
