Alpamayo - The Most Beautiful Mountain in the Andes
Alpamayo is considered one of the most beautiful mountains in the world. Alpamayo can be called a snow-veil beauty of the Andes. It is located in the northernmost part of Cordillera Blanca, about 130 km (80 miles) north of the Huaraz city. Its wildly fluted faces combine with knife-edge ridges to form one of the most remarkable peaks in the world. Alpamayo´s favourite slope, Southwest face, offers at least 1,200ft. of challenging alpine ice, much of it at 60 degrees or steeper.
