It’s that time of the year again and the outpouring of community support is an excellent indicator that this year is going to once again benefit the local community and our sponsors; Prove to be an action packed dramatic spectacle for spectators; and will be a whole lot of fun for everyone involved. This year’s format will remain similar to last year where we will be on the hill from 8am to 7pm each day. Friday will be an entire day of practice, Saturday we will run the secondary classes: Juniors - 17 & under, Masters - 30 to 39, Grand Masters – 40 and older & Women.  Sunday the Expert and Pro classes will race.  These classes are based on skill level instead of age or gender. Qualifying will be done with 4 rounds of round robin racing which will lead into a semifinal for the secondary classes and 1/4 finals for the experts and pros. There is a 150 rider cap across all categories. This assures each participant not only maximize time on the hill but maximum racing experience

The entire community surrounding Port Jervis is behind the event and the only thing enjoyed more than their hill is their cooperation. Big ups to Mayor Decker and the Common Council for approving the event, Port Jervis Department of Public Works for grooming the course, The Port Jervis Volunteer Ambulance Corp and Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service (RACES) of Orange County will be providing on the hill EMS and Communications, Pumpkin Patch Field of Dreams is providing hay and clean up, group camping is provided by Oakland Valley Campground, portable toilets by Johnny on the Spot, shuttle vehicles by United Rentals and Shop Rite is providing lunch and photography by John Curry.  $5 per registration will be given to the Park and Rec Department for being the lynch pin.

There is no charge to spectators and everyone is welcome to walk the hill at any time, however, prime time for spectators is between noon and 5pm on Sunday, August 31, 2014.
