Althought it's been a month since WILD IN THE STREETS, the worldwide celebration of skateboarding taking place all over the world. Due to our Prague's base, we couldn't miss Czech mission and refreshed by Budweiser beer we hit the streets. As you know, skateboards are lazy breed and as a result - the official report as well as the video edit came out little bit late. Supported by Emerica, Budweiser, Skaterock.cz and Elephant Skateboards, this annual gathering had one simple aim from the very beginning - have fun.

Custom made "skateboard"

WITS is a downhill ride starting every year at Cerveny Vrh with finish at Stalin Plaza, Czech Republic's Mecca of street skateboarding. Around six o'clock a support vehicle arrived to the meeting point to give away T-shirts with WITS theme and the downhill was officialy called on.

The event was well attended and it looks like WITS gains in popularity every year. The number is not official because nobody bothered to count all riders but estimated 200 people gathered at the occasion of WITS this year. Well done!

The only rider from Barcelona (with the hat on) - unfortunately we don't know his name, but if you are reading this and recognize yourself - big ups man!

After the group photo at the beginning the crowd of 200 hundred plunged down the streets towards the city centre. Passer-by's and people in cars shook their heads and you could tell by the look at them, they had absolutly no clue what was going on. Thanks to everybody that no animals, citizens nor skaters were harmed on their way down.

Organizers with the most precious thing  - the beer

When everybody safely arrived at the city centre, all moved to Stalin to take part in a best trick contest. Those who didn't want to participate grabed a can of bear and chilled.

Tomáš Barták – varial heelflip

The second half of the event carried on in friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The main speaker "Pinin" commented and rated tricks of those who had enough power to give their bests. There were many tries and Emerica stickers were free for grab. It was Lukas Danek, a professional skateboarder who definetely nailed most of his tricks to be rightfully crownded the WITS king.

Jirka Hronek – fakie 360 flip

The second place went to other pro, Jirka Hronek for his perfect nollie hardflip and his latest trick - switch frontside flip 360, a trick that is not seen every day. Adam Zvada nailed couple of tricks as well to grab the third place.

T-shirts were given away, hills conquered, beers drunk and prices awarded - Emerica Wild in the Streets 2014 was surely a great succes. Even the old theme "skaters by skaters" was followed - the skaters helped to organize it and also clean up Stalin from empty beer cans and other garbage. And that's the way to go! See you next year!
