Aars Airfield Skydiving with Nordjysk Parachute Club, Denmark

Vesthimmerland Airport is a location of Danish Skydiving Club called Nordjysk Parachute Club. The club is operating most of the Skydiving services including Tandem Jumps, Solo Jumps and Events Jumping. Jumping at Aars Airfield takes place every weekend all year round, weather permitting.

The Club facilities include opportunity to stay overnight in the clubhouse, which is approx. 20 bunk beds. In addition, Nordjysk Parachute Club have a C-182, a manifesto, a large indoor package area, a theory room, a TV room and of course a bar for after jumping time. Due to environmental restrictions they are allowed to fly from 7.00 to 19.00 with unlimited number of lifts. On the weekends they fly from 8:00 to 19:00 with a fixed lunch break from 12:00 to 13:00. However, with only 20 lifts a weekend. Moreover, they have the option of 2 events a year where they can fly unlimited for 4 days from 7.00 to 22.00.

Airplane

The Nordjysk Parachute Club plane is a Cessna 182Q produced in 1980, colloquially known as NJF due to its registration number OY-NJF. It has been modified from having a 230 hp Continental O-470 carbureted engine to have a 300 HP Continental IO-550 injection engine. It is abble to take up 5 jumpers to 2000m in 12 min. , to 3000m in 15 min. and 4000m in 23 minutes.

Aars Airfield  

Aars Airport, also known as Vesthimmerland Airport, is an airport located 6 km northwest of Aars, a town in Vesthimmerland Municipality (Region Nordjylland), Denmark. The airport has two runways, one of which is paved (1200m) and the other grassy (550m). It has plenty of fine and safe landing space. Aars Airfield is located on Aggersundvej 105B between Aars and Hornum (highway nr. 29). If you drive from Aalborg you can either run through the city of Nibe (by 187) or take the highway until the exit 32 for Aars. Both routes take about half an hour. If coming from the south, take the motorway and take exit 34. Then follow highway 29 all the way. The bus stop is also almost over Aars Airfield. Between Aalborg and Hvalpsund there is line 100 running. There are 7 zones from Aalborg. You just ask the driver to get off at the roundabout at the airfield. The roundabout is between Vegger and Hornum.
