With overall top conditions, both as far as the track and the weather were concerned, this called for a perfect race weekend.

Before the finals, the Elite Men category was dominated by David Trummer (AUT - RRP Ghost) with a total of 614 points, followed by Manuel Gruber (AUT - Radon Factory DH) with 599 points. However, due to an injury Gruber could not attend the race in Leogang and left Trummer as the odds-on favorite. The only rider who could still have the chance to reach Trummer's result was Slawomir Lukasik who however finished 13th.
