Red Bull Rampage 2014 - Challenging and Dangerous

There is no way any of you wouldn't be looking forward to this. One of the toughest free-ride MTB challenges in the world, Red Bull Rampage returns to the vast open Utah's desert, Virginia, USA on 26-28 September 2014. With riders having the freedom to scope and build their lines, the event sets no boundaries. Imagine the gutsiest jumps, massive drops and most gnarly tricks seen since the first riders trekked to Utah in 2001, unleashing some of the biggest moments the sport has ever seen. The dangers are there all the time and one mistake can send you to the hospital for months. But as the old saying goes, if it bleeds, it leads. Don't miss it, the event is webcasted live!

The event that has launched viral video stars and dropped thousands of jaws returns to Utah this fall, a freeride mountain biking spectacle known the world over as a proving ground for the best, bravest and most well-rounded rider on two wheels. Red Bull Rampage, a diamond series event of the FMB World Tour, will take place near Virgin, Utah with the finals set for September 28th.

'Rampage' mountain

The unique think about the whole idea competing on  and  dropping in off a near-vertical sandstone ridge is that over 30 daring mountain bikers will incorporate their own lines into the hill prior the event bringing their own individual styles. And only one can win - the one who can combine skills from downhill freeride, slopestyle, dirt jumping and racing.

Last year, there was a barrage of amazing moments, including two huge backflips that had the 1,500 plus spectators going mental. Cam Zink backflipped the 78ft Oakley Icon Sender – a trick he had been planning for months and required him to build his own kicker ramp to get the angle needed to attempt it. He seems to enjoy the Oakley sender, in 2010 he did first ever 360 there.

Contrary to past years, the event is going to be held on the other side of the current mountain. This ‘backside’ should be more sheltered from any winds, and the sun will no longer shine into riders eyes - we can’t wait to see what the riders manage to create and ride on this new blank canvas.

The finals are webcast live on Sunday, September 28th and you can watch it here or tune-in to NBC on Sunday, November 30th at 12:30pm EST and catch the television recording
