Schwalbe British 4X Series Round 4 & 5

This weekend sees rounds 4 and 5 of the 2014 Schwalbe British 4X Series taking place in Much Wenlock, near Bridgnorth in Shropshire. The 4X track at Much Wenlock has hosted the National Championships in 2008 and 2013 and has also hosted many nationals over the years. The track is awesome and its huge berms and flowing straights are why this track has been a firm favorite with riders and spectators over the years. At around 400 meters long, with 6 turns and flowing jumps, this track is a great example of 4X at its finest.

The round 4 is scheduled on Saturday 19th and round 5 on Sunday 20th July. After what has been a great start to the season of 4X here in the UK, with rounds in Harthill, Afan and Redhill, attracting record numbers of riders and great crowds, expectations are high for the racing in Much Wenlock to be of the same high caliber.

So far this season, Scott Beaumont, one of the leading elite UK riders, has been unbeatable winning rounds 1, 2 and 3. Who will challenge him? Lewis Lacey, fresh from his great finishes at the 4X ProTour, will be looking to take the win. Nathan Parsons has had a new lease of life this year and he is a contender in 2014. Duncan Ferris and Will Evans have both won races in 2014. They are capable taking the glory in Bridgnorth

Following in Beaumont's footsteps, Cara Murray has been the dominant rider in the women's category, winning all 3 rounds so far in 2014. Heather Kay, Tyde D'Souza and Liz Folwer have all had the speed this year, and will be looking to upset Cara's weekend. On this track, anything is possible and the challenge will definitely come from one of these women.

As always, anybody can pre-enter both rounds via British Cycling's website or enter on site. Those who'd like to spend both days there, there is a camping field right next to the track with catering on site all weekend.
