The unique course goes through a beautiful town and is full of steep stairs, alleys and spectacular jumps. Total of 40 riders were invited to come down to Taxco once again to put on an incredible show where each rider will whizz by Taxco's alleys and crazy crowd of more than 13.000 fans in two rounds from which only the best time counts. The 2 km long course changes every year so we are really stoked what surprises the organizers have prepared for riders this season. As always, rounding out the main race will be the 'Best Trick' contest taking place in a traditional alley where the biggest jumps have always been at. "Taxco is the best urban race I've ever ridden, the track is so much fun to ride and the fans are absolutely wild!,” Brendan Fairclough, 2012 race winner.
But there is more to it. For a lot of the international riders, this is a glimpse of the Mexico they've never seen or heard about. Getting rowdy on the streets with the locals is one thing, but much bigger issues and programs can be brought to light with the help of such format. Hopefully, this is going to take action anytime soon!
