WATSA 2014 - International BMX Frestyle Contest in France

This May, the WATSA festival, BMX Freestyle competition takes place in famous "bowl de Marseille", an urban skatepark covered in graffiti art work and one of the best concrete bowls in Europe. Set in a scenic coastline just outside of the second biggest city of France, the bowl offers countless lines, perfect for maintaining speed and enough air. On 23 - 25 May,2014, this place will turn into a big village welcoming everybody to be part of this awesome freestyle and music festival. One of the top rides in the World as well as amateurs will test themselves on the Marseille's ground to compete for the € 5,000 purse. Names like Tom Justice, Mark Webb or Michal Beran will turn up. Camila Gobby Harambour, one of the world best BMX girls, coming from Chile will be present too. Don't miss it!

The WATSA Festival is an international BMX Freestyle contest for pro and amateur riders alike. Participants come from all corners of the world. The competition is free to watch and some free BMX initiations will be organized by Marseille Freestyle BMX Association for people who wants to try the BMX. Signings with international riders, DJ's, bike demos, retro-gaming stand, exhibition tents, raffle and an After Party on a rooftop of the One Again Club; that's what you can expect at WATSA 2014.

Friday 23 May

9 am : Opening
9am to 12am : Training amateur
12am to 3pm : Training pro
3:30pm : Free session. 

Saturday 24 May

9am to 10am : Training amateur
10am to 2:30pm : Qualifications amateur 2:30pm to 3:30pm : Training pro
4pm to 8pm : Qualifications pro.

Sunday 25 May

9am to 11am : Training amateurs qualified
11am to 1pm : Final amateur
1pm to 3pm : Training pros qualified
3pm to 6pm : Final pro
6:30pm : Prize-giving amateur and pro.

How to get to the WATSA venue?

From the St. Charles train station take the subway (red line) to Ste. Marguerite. Then take the bus 47 to the Vielle Chapelle stop. It's the first stop along the coast. Head towards the water and you'll see the park. If you fly there, then the Marignane Airport is your stop. If you come by a car, here is the address:
